Petrosys recently attended PETEX 2018 in London. This biennial event has at times been one of the largest subsurface E&P conference and exhibition in the UK, with a few editions at Earls Court and more recently at EXCEL in London’s docklands. However, due to events in the Oil and Gas sector over the last few years the show has become smaller in size and this meant that for 2018 PETEX returned to its roots at Olympia in Kensington.

For over 125 years Olympia has held many events from the first international motor exhibition in 1905, the first world Scout Jamboree in 1920 to Hendrix playing at Christmas 1967. The Victorian iron and glass roofed structure has many stories to tell and no doubt a few more after a busy three days of talks and exhibits.

Kevin Ward presented at the “Explore your Career Zone” and he and Nathan Balls met a good number of customers old and new. We also had a chance to get some updates from our technology partners on what they are bringing to the market over the coming months. Who knows whether we will be back at Olympia in two years time, hopefully demand for space will increase as confidence returns and maybe the old lady will not be big enough. However, we enjoyed visiting some of the old haunts around West London and thoroughly enjoyed PETEX 2018.
