Well data display and integration improved

Well data display improved and new data sources added.

Petrosys v16.7+ makes working with wells even simpler with our unified well display interface. Among the many enhancements are:

1. Single Display/Wells option for all data sources
2. Support for using formation rules with all multi-connect data sources
3. Formation penetration map support for multi-connect data sources
4. Well paths optionally restricted to selected formations

In addition - building on Petrosys' commitment to connectivity - three new well data sources are available to Windows users; Petrel, Petra and SeisWare wells can all now be displayed directly in a Petrosys map, increasing the total number of well data sources available to twelve.

Single Display/Wells option for all data sources

Our unified well display interface provides a single Display/Wells option for all data sources with an easier to use drop-down menu selector to choose or change the displayed data source. This makes it simpler and easier to display well data in maps or 3D or to copy and paste displayed layers and change the data-source of project connection.

Support for using formation rules with all multi-connect data sources

Improved formation selection utility, which supports use of “formation rules” with all multi-connect data sources, is now available. These rules help the user to define the order of precedence by interpreter, formation equivalence, or both.

The rules enable practical selection of certain formation tops, eg when posting on a map or gridding. In addition to aiding with picking the desired formations, it is also possible to specify rules to apply to the selection, such as “use the formation top value from interpreter 1, otherwise use the value from interpreter 2” or “post Base-dearfoot event if it exists, otherwise post Top-bearcat event”.

Well formation, symbol and path display enhancements

Further, the release significantly improves the ability to highlight given formation segments in your maps, which aids in formation penetration mapping and to optionally restrict display to selected formation and well path segments. The function also allows posting of well symbols at the entry point to a given formation or zone and well paths to be optionally restricted to selected formations. Annotations can also be posted at the selected formation/zone symbol location.
