Mapping with Petrosys is a natural way to bring together facts and ideas from a range of disciplines and data sources. Petrosys' direct interfaces to many of the specialised applications used by EP professionals ensure that EP teams have better communication more quickly and with lower support and learning overheads than with older or more generic mapping systems.

Notes

1 Linux 'Fedora Core' and 'CentOs' are open source Linux variants which are not the products of any specific vendor, although the Fedora project includes Red Hat amongst its sponsors. Whilst Petrosys will run under Fedora and CentOs (of the equivalent Red Hat supported versions), other applications, or the combination of Petrosys and other applications, may have problems.
2 Enterprise Linux 3 support is currently available but will be unsupported in future versions. From .4+16.7 EL3 will only be available on request and in version 17 it will not be available at all.
3 All versions of Solaris (8, 9 and 10) will be unsupported in future versions of Petrosys starting with version 17.0, due Q3 2011. Version 16.x will support Solaris 8+.
4 At this stage, Petrosys does not differentiate between the different versions of Vista, Server 2008 or Windows 7, such as Home and Professional, 32 or 64bit.
5 Please note that Oracle only certify 11g R2 for RHEL6. It is strongly recommended you follow Oracle's platform support guidelines when provisioning a database server on this platform. Note that for Petrosys to run on RHEL6 when connecting to Oracle a number of 32bit system packages must be installed, particularly nss-pam-ldapd.i686.
6 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 supported from version 16.10 and above. Earlier versions may work in part, however third-party connectivity may not function as expected.

Notes

1 The Petrosys interface in this environment may use the third-party application's development kit for enhanced data access.
2 Prior to version 15, there were some constraints on connecting to various versions of GeoFrame hosted on various Linux, Solaris and Irix server platforms.
3 Petrel 2008.1 is supported from version 16.4.1.
4 Petrel 2010.1 and above, both 32 and 64bit, are supported from version 16.8. Note that once you have installed Petrel 2010.1 you cannot go back to a previous version of Petrel.
5 Petrel 2009.2 (32 and 64bit) is supported from version 16.6sp3. Note that once you have installed Petrel 2009.2 you cannot go back to a previous version of Petrel.
6 Petrel 2009.1 (32bit) is supported from version 16.5sp3. Petrel 2009.1 (64bit) is supported from version 16.6.
7 Compatibility for integration and support of SMT v8.2 and SMT v8.3+ for Windows 64bit is available in Petrosys v16.4+.
8 Compatibility for integration and support of SMT v8.1 is available in Petrosys v15.5 & Petrosys v16.1.
9 Petrosys 15+ running under Microsoft Windows can access GeoFrame grids and surfaces from GeoFrame servers hosted on Unix or Linux. GeoFrame well and seismic access is not yet available across the Windows / *nix 'dispatch' bridge.
10 Petrosys running under this platform can access GeoFrame grids and surfaces from GeoFrame servers hosted on Linux EL4+. GeoFrame well and seismic access is not available across the 'dispatch' bridge.
11 Petrosys will only run on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4+ when connecting to this version of GeoFrame.
12 Petrosys will only run on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4+ when connecting to this version of OpenWorks.
13 This specific version of Landmark R5000 is only compatible with versions 16.7sp2 or earlier. To connect to newer versions of R5000 you must use Petrosys version 16.8 or newer.
14 This specific version of Landmark R5000 is only compatible with versions 16.8 or newer. From Petrosys version 16.8 you must have upgraded your Landmark R5000 to at least R5000.0.1.0.
15 Petrosys 15+ running under Microsoft Windows requires a Petrosys 'dispatch' server to be running on a Linux server to access some OpenWorks/SeisWorks data.
16 These operating systems will generally work with this version of ArcSDE but, due to ESRI not officially supporting this version on this platform, compatibility issues may arise.
17 Petrosys supports connecting to any version of Oracle 8.1.7 or higher but recommends 10.2.0.4 or higher. When running on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 or above you must ensure that all of Oracle's 32bit system library dependencies are installed, particularly nss-pam-ldapd.
18 ArcGIS Desktop 10 is only supported from Petrosys version 16.8sp2 and upwards.
19 ArcSDE 10sp1 is supported from Petrosys version 16.9 and upwards.
20 Paradigm EPOS4 is support from Petrosys version 16.9 and upwards.
21 Paradigm EPOS4 is supported on 64-bit Linux EL4+.
22 If the Auto SQL Server Express option in SMT V8.5sp2 and higher is used for a project, it is only possible to connect to it while the project is open in SMT.
23 Petrel 2011.1 and 2011.2, both 32 and 64bit, are supported from version 16.9sp3. Note that once you have upgraded a project to Petrel 2011.1 or 2011.2 it is not possible to open it in an earlier version of Petrel.
24 SMT 8.6 support available from Petrosys v16.9sp3.
25 Petrosys has not validated OpenWorks R5000.0.1 integration with all later released versions of OpenWorks, but relies on Halliburton support's guidance of backwards compatibility. Please check the OpenWorks R5000 release notes for your particular version to confirm backwards compatibility for third-party integration.
