1. Simpler integration of seismic, fault & surface knowledge

Major enhancements are available for directly visualizing seismic interpretation and surfaces from a host of data sources. This includes the ability to directly display seismic and fault interpretations from sources including Petrel, SeisWorks, SeisWare, GeoFrame and SMT Kingdom. Geoscientists can achieve significant productivity gains and more effective map based communication .... read more

2. Paradigm EPOS integration

The eagerly awaited direct connections to Paradigm EPOS 2D and 3D seismic navigation and interpretation data lead the list of features in Petrosys 16.9. The EPOS link allows direct mapping, gridding, and import of EPOS data in Petrosys running on 64-bit Linux platforms, and was built to meet the immediate needs of clients in the USA, Malaysia and Australia. Watch our webinar video "Paradigm Integration with Petrosys" to see more or browse our release note to read more.

3. WDF adds Time/Depth data + import from dbMap

The introduction of checkshot data to the WDF sees an improvement in your depth conversion workflows, as zone interval and average velocities are automatically computed. Well data can now be imported from dbMap and you can copy data more easily between Well Data Files (WDF) .... read more

4. Well information display improved + new sources

Our unified well display interface makes it even easier to directly display well location, survey, formation tops and a range of attributes from your project or master well data sources. Three new well data sources are available; Petrel, Petra and SeisWare, taking the total to twelve. Improved formation selection utilities provide the ability to highlight given formation segments in your maps, which aids in formation penetration mapping and to optionally restrict the display to selected formation and well path segments, along with allowing posting of well symbols at the entry point to a given formation or zone ... read more

5. The Petrosys Plug-in for Petrel

Petrosys' integration with Petrel has been strengthened with the addition of several new features, which, combined with the existing plug-in function, provide complete exploration and development mapping workflows. Take advantage of Petrosys presentation-quality mapping, together with the ability to effectively display information from Petrel, GIS, Landmark and many other data sources at the same time ... read more

6. Enhanced modeling delivers improved visualization of multiple scenarios

Enhanced modeling workflows are available through better surface-surface and arithmetic processing operations. Surface modeling workflows in Petrosys now support the immediate creation of one or many maps after modeling. Combined with implementation of conditional processing, geoscientists can more effectively compare multiple scenarios, realizations and results - quickly and effectively - with our new tools ... read more

7. Geostatistics, very large grids + directional contours

The gridding method of kriging has been significantly upgraded to include the ability to produce variogram maps and model anisotropy. In response to a shift to larger and more detailed project area,s Petrosys now supports very large grids. New directionally sensitive contours enable the use of 'up-side/down-side' contour styles to improve map readability .... read more

8. Share/display data with GIS systems more easily

The Petrosys plug-in for Esri now supports ArcGIS 10 and Petrosys mapping directly displays knowledge from ArcSDE 10. Very popular enhancements are available to support the export of any Petrosys map data (any source) to Google Earth's KML format, shapefiles and Oracle Spatial via our spatial data exchange options. Master data management enhancements to dbMap support for the PPDM 3.8 culture model and our on-going improvements to spatialization of PPDM data that supports registration in ArcSDE, make Petrosys the most effectively integrated sub-surface application with your GIS environments.  You can now incorporate Oracle Spatial data into gridding processes and directly display Landmark ZGF file knowledge .... read more

9. 3DViz viewpoints and movie generation

In the Petrosys 3dviewer, users can now save a series of camera viewing positions as a collection of 'viewpoints'. These make it easy for the user to create a series of descriptive viewing positions and return to those display perspectives quickly - much like a bookmark. The viewer also now supports the creation of movies which provides an effective way to present or share information to other parties ... read more

10. Georeferencing of raster images

With satellite imagery and remote sensing data sets playing a rapidly growing role in providing both geological insight and spatial referencing, raster image underlays have become a core component of EP mapping. Petrosys' ongoing investment in supporting the use of raster imagery has been extended with an interactive georeferencing tool that allows interactive picking and editing of georeferencing locations .... read more

wms

11. Take advantage of web map service image display

WMS imagery can now be displayed on Petrosys maps. All kinds of imagery are available from WMS servers, including satellite and aerial photography, with many sources free for use. Accessing imagery via web services reduces data duplication and increases efficiency. Of course your most important Petrosys maps can be published as a web map service also .... read more
