Having consistent looking maps is a great way to give your company a strong corporate identity. In Petrosys version 17.4 the combination of “Dynamic Mapsheets” and “Bookmarks” makes it easy for new users to create great looking maps quickly and easily!

With dynamic mapsheets, a user can display data immediately without the need to set up a Petrosys Mapsheet:

Dynamic Mapsheet

A right-mouse-button click will let this area of interest be saved as a mapsheet and, if you use an existing template file, it means there is no need to spend time adjusting annotation, colours and margins, etc. These Template mapsheets can be stored in a central repository, such as a shared Petrosys local folder, for all users to access. And, if this is added as a site “Bookmark” (Configuration>path mapping>file selector), then all users can easily find it.

In the example above, there are pre-defined mapsheets set up for hardcopy and graphics presentations at a variety of scales.

This is the result:

Please note that the area of interest and CRS of the template mapsheet is not copied over – all that is taken is the layout: title block, annotation options etc.

Now you can have great maps without spending time setting up mapsheets.
